We are thrilled to share that one of our lush tabletops that featured custom linens designed using over 25 layers of tulle, custom table caps, mercury glass centerpieces with dreamy white florals, custom place cards and clear ghost chairs to add a little edge is featured in the current Fall/Winter issue of Grace Ormonde Wedding Style magazine that is currently on newsstands in the US and international cities. We hope you will check it out! Also, a big thank you to our creative partners that helped us create such a magical night: Designing Life, Naked Eye Image, Bella Flora, Beyond Lighting, Classic Party Rentals and MOHA Photography for capturing this amazing image!read more »
My friend and client Evelyn Lozada has weathered a tough year but she remains one of the women I admire the most. Her strength, honesty with her emotions and ‘around the way girl’ persona is only a few of the reasons why I love her. After a long silence she re-emerges on Season 5 of Basketball Wives proving that she is built to last. I’ve held onto the images from that magical night not sure what to do with them but I’ve decided to finally share them because on this night we celebrated Evelyn Lozada and I’m proud of what she inspired me to create!read more »
I’ve found throughout my career as an event planner and designer, that by default we become expert dessert connoisseurs. Or maybe my expertise comes from being a female raised in the South where desserts are taken very seriously and are an art form of their own. LOL. Either way, desserts are my thing and I LOVE them! One of the best parts of my job is getting to find new bakers to provide excellent desserts for our clients.
My all time favorite cupcakes are from CamiCakes in Atlanta. It is my first stop when I leave the airport…definitely a little slice of heaven. I have always been sad that they do not have a location in Los Angeles and thought there was nothing that could even come close until I stumbled upon a new LA secret, Cupcake Stiletto. Their cupcakes are to die for!read more »
I recently chatted with Fri from one of my favorite wedding magazines, Wedding Nouveau. I love this publication so much because it is one of the rare magazines that represent women of color – all colors. After catching up on our lives and careers she asked me for the soundtrack of my life. I didn’t have to think long about this because everything about my life revolves around love. 1+1 by Beyonce is what immediately came to mind. So often along my journey of life I feel like it is me against the world but this song reminds me that I’ve got someone who is standing beside me, protecting me and taking the world head on with me…read more »
I spend a great deal of my life traveling – both professionally and personally. While exploring the world, I intentionally engulf myself in these foreign cultures by developing friendships with locals, indulging in authentic cuisine and most importantly embracing the authentic design of a country so that I can somehow learn, extrapolate and find my own inspiration for the many design projects I am working on. My current trip to the continent of Asia has been no different. My first stop in Bangkok was extremely culturally relevant. With many Americans settling in Bangkok Post-Vietnam War after realizing they were not as exuberantly welcomed back to America, Thailand embraces Westerners in a manner that is both genuinely accepting and graciously hospitable. With tremendous British influence, English is widely spoken making it very easy to maneuver throughout the city.
Aside from shopping – Bangkok is one of the few cities where the value of the dollar is very strong – I was anxious to soak up the knowledge from some of the biggest attractions in the city. The Grand Palace and home of the Emerald Buddha is by far the most popular attraction in Bangkok and delivers sensory overload dripping with opulence, gold, ethereal energy and spiritual nuances that makes this the highlight of my visit.
In this week’s issue of US Weekly, the magazine gives an exclusive and stunning glimpse of some of the details from Orange County Housewives Tamra Barney and Eddie Judge’s nuptials last weekend at The St. Regis Monarch Beach. The story offers a detailed view of Tamra’s custom cuff that I designed to replace the bulky and often cumbersome bridal bouquet. The 8 harpists that lined the center aisle also get a beautiful showcase in the wedding recap. However, I am most excited to see the custom suspended cake stand that I designed to hold their wedding cake as it floated above the dance floor along with a pair of oversized pearls! I hope you enjoy all of the juicy details!read more »
After an incredibly short amount of planning time, Tamra Barney and Eddie Judge tied the knot at an opulent ceremony on the Grand Lawn of the St. Regis Monarch Beach. She wore an amazing Mark Zunino gown for the romantic ceremony before enjoying the best party of her life in the Monarch Ballroom. I immensely enjoyed working with Tamra and Eddie and getting to know the woman off-camera. It is evident that they make each other very happy and we wish them a lifetime of love and happiness.
Although no official photographs have been released, I did find this paparazzi pic of Tamra and Eddie during the ceremony holding her amazing bridal cuff I designed with Justin Howard of Flaming Flower Productions that featured hanging crystals and Phalaenopsis Orchid stems. This was a modern accent to her gorgeous gown without impeding the view of all of its intricate beadwork.read more »
I’m thrilled to announce that I will be teaming up with Tamra Barney, one of the stars of the Real Housewives of Orange County to design and produce her summer wedding to Eddie Judge. Tamra and Eddie have great chemistry and a love for life and the best thing is that both of them have been open to new and non-traditional ideas that will make their celebration truly unique. Tamra has shared so many of her life’s transitions with TV viewers and she is thrilled to allow them to share in this next milestone in her life. The Bravo cameras will be following her journey and our collaboration on an intensely tight schedule for her own spinoff show documenting her upcoming wedding that will air in the fall!read more »
On May 10th, 90210 actress Shenae Grimes makes a bold statement as she ties the knot with model/musician Josh Beech. It may have been just another beautiful Saturday afternoon for a celebrity wedding but Shanae boldly wed in her own skin in a black Vera Wang gown. White is such a traditional wedding statement and I know that it takes a secure fashionista to defy the trends and declare her ‘I Do’ on her own terms.read more »
Sometimes the circumstances of my life or the pace of my achievements can get me down a bit. I long for the realization of so many dreams and aspirations – many of which I was certain I would have accomplished by now. It is during these times that I return to my prayer journal to remind myself of all of the many answered prayers over my lifetime – giving humble thanks for thus far. More so, reflecting back reminds me that my pace may not equal that of some of our greatest icons but I am on my own journey, my own path enriching lives one at a time. Therefore, I decided to share a few of my biggest and proudest transformations!read more »
