My recent trip to International Bridal Market in NYC gave me a chance to see firsthand some of the fabulous creations that will make their way down center aisles in the coming wedding months. I loved Paris Fashion Week for the drama and architectural influences, but I knew before landing in New York that all of the gowns on the runways would be inspired by love. Bridal fashion designers showed the world their interpretation of love – how they define it and the characteristics of the woman they envision walking down the aisle in their creations. With my DRV Coordinator Tiffany Pompey in tow, we set out to show one of our newest brides the best of bridal market while taking our own bite out of the Big Apple. Come along for the ride!
Claire Pettibone showed a collection inspired by French romance that was complemented by sexy soulful sounds, couture shoes and a gorgeous Parisian backdrop. I love how she stays true to her style while giving us all something fresh to drool over year after year!
Claire Pettibone also showcased splashes of tiffany blue in her collection that would nicely complement my Artistic Waves Wedding Invitation Suite!
Evelyn Lozada and I carefully studied the romantic gowns at the Christos for Amsale show.
Kenneth Pool for Amsale veered slightly away from his signature satin ball gowns but delivered all of the sophistication we have come to expect from his collection.
My boo and I were able to break away and catch the taping of Black Girls Rock that airs in early November on BET. I enjoyed a good cry along with Taraji Henson as she accepted her award and reminded us all how critically important it is for black girls to support, uplift and love one another.
Anne Barge also stayed true to her Southern charm showing her latest collection but infused fresh silhouettes and a gorgeous gold finale and proved that she is ready to push the envelope on call!
Anne Barge’s finale gown is a perfect complement to my Pure Dazzle Wedding Invitation Suite!
The Junko Yoshioka show was full of geometric lines and form fitting silhouettes. I chatted with Aubrey O’Day during the show admiring her dogs own touch of fashion demonstrated in her lavender mane.
Ines di Santo amazed once again with her incredibly sexy, high-fashion, couture creations that floated down the runway. I am still fascinated how she makes every woman sport the perfect derriere in her gowns. I love how she brings haute couture to our industry year after year. Bravo my friend!
My Perfect Peonies Wedding Invitation Suite is a fitting announcement for any of Ines’ gowns!
I was also able to enjoy a much needed reunion with Jennifer Williams. We had lots to catch up on and I am in love with her new lip gloss line Lucid Cosmetics! #Blackgirlsrock
The final party of my trip was The Knot Gala and arriving at the New York Public Library to an ethereal lit front was almost as good as watching Carrie Bradshaw skip up the stairs before discovering her wedding day location.
The red carpet interview allowed me to chat about the forthcoming premiere of I Do Over. Have a look!

I was also able to catch up with some old friends and meet a few new ones and I could not get enough of the mini biscuits with honey apple bacon…delish!
Back in my office I am still fascinated by all of the talented creative minds that graced bridal market. You all inspire me and I thank you!
Keep spreading the love,
