Love Above All Returns in Grand Style!

Personalized Couples Key Dates Wall Art

Every year on Valentine’s Day, the Empire State Building gives three lucky couples a chance to tie the knot at this historic landmark. If you believe your love should culminate at this magical location, which also happens to be where my friend Preston Bailey married his love Theo – submit your own creative video pleading your case of why you deserve this storybook ceremony. You can be one of the lucky couples to marry along with 24 of your closest guests. And this year, the Empire State Building is teaming up with one of my favorite online stores – Red Envelope. Red Envelope will be hosting a luxury gifting suite for these winners to make sure they leave with a few amazing items to start their new lives with.

The Soundtrack of My Life!

I recently chatted with Fri from one of my favorite wedding magazines, Wedding Nouveau. I love this publication so much because it is one of the rare magazines that represent women of color – all colors. After catching up on our lives and careers she asked me for the soundtrack of my life. I didn’t have to think long about this because everything about my life revolves around love. 1+1 by Beyonce is what immediately came to mind. So often along my journey of life I feel like it is me against the world but this song reminds me that I’ve got someone who is standing beside me, protecting me and taking the world head on with me…

US Weekly Showcases the DV Designed Suspended Cake Stand from Tamra Barney & Eddie Judge’s Nuptials!

In this week’s issue of US Weekly, the magazine gives an exclusive and stunning glimpse of some of the details from Orange County Housewives Tamra Barney and Eddie Judge’s nuptials last weekend at The St. Regis Monarch Beach. The story offers a detailed view of Tamra’s custom cuff that I designed to replace the bulky and often cumbersome bridal bouquet. The 8 harpists that lined the center aisle also get a beautiful showcase in the wedding recap. However, I am most excited to see the custom suspended cake stand that I designed to hold their wedding cake as it floated above the dance floor along with a pair of oversized pearls! I hope you enjoy all of the juicy details!

Tamra Barney and Eddie Judge Tie The Knot!

After an incredibly short amount of planning time, Tamra Barney and Eddie Judge tied the knot at an opulent ceremony on the Grand Lawn of the St. Regis Monarch Beach. She wore an amazing Mark Zunino gown for the romantic ceremony before enjoying the best party of her life in the Monarch Ballroom. I immensely enjoyed working with Tamra and Eddie and getting to know the woman off-camera. It is evident that they make each other very happy and we wish them a lifetime of love and happiness.

Although no official photographs have been released, I did find this paparazzi pic of Tamra and Eddie during the ceremony holding her amazing bridal cuff I designed with Justin Howard of Flaming Flower Productions that featured hanging crystals and Phalaenopsis Orchid stems. This was a modern accent to her gorgeous gown without impeding the view of all of its intricate beadwork.

Diann Valentine Opens “Wedding Confidential” for 20/20!

On Friday, January 18th I was honored to joined the ABC News family as the opening interview and wedding expert for their “Wedding Confidential” Special on 20/20. I was so excited to interview with ABC correspondent Amy Robach who was fun and witty, charming and so easy to talk to. Jason Sky styled me in a gorgeous Stella McCartney dress, Christian Louboutin heels and Proenza Schouler handbag. Leo Eley perfected my make-up with a nude face and not so small top knot while hanging with me in NYC for this interview – keeping my spirits high and laughing all day. In case you missed the interview, here is a clip of a few of my tips that made it on the ABC website. And I promise, the fried chicken comment just slipped…oooops!

Encore!

Overall-Tent

This magical weekend in Dallas did not end after the gorgeous dinner. The DVLW team worked through the night (literally) to flip the tent into one large Parisian lounge for brunch and a mini birthday celebration for Bishop T.D. Jakes the following day. Tables were swapped out, linens changed, chairs re-configured, lounge furnishings installed, new floral centerpieces, a birthday cake, lots of accessories to finish the space with a residential feel that I deem so incredibly important for any entertaining space, French pastries – oh and let me not forget the French poodles!

Ring The Bell!

Once the program at the AT&T Performing Arts Center to honor Bishop T.D. Jakes concluded, an intimate group of special guests joined them for a private dinner to continue the celebration of his Triumphant Journey. A two-week installation by the DVLW team that included torrential thunderstorms, landscaping challenges due to weather and some emergency water excavations finally culminated with an awe-inspiring tented dinner. This design was inspired by one of my recent trips to fashion week in Paris. While understanding that this would be a dinner to celebrate Bishop Jakes, I knew that the host of the evening would be Mrs. Jakes and the design should be reflective of a sophisticated woman with phenomenal taste and tremendous love for her husband. Luckily she agreed and with her blessings we designed an evening that mixed classic French motifs with modern edge for a stunning conclusion to a magical evening.

Reason To Celebrate!

Diann Valentine

When the timeline of your life reads like that of Bishop T. D. Jakes, Sr., there is reason to pause. He has impacted millions of lives through his ministry, music, books, philanthropic work, films and testimony. After 35 years of serving the people, Mrs. Serita A. Jakes, The Potter’s House of Dallas and T.D.J. Enterprises decided it was time to celebrate his journey thus far. Needless to say, I was thrilled and humbled when my favorite Dallas family called on me and the DVLW team to help them celebrate in style.
