Tip of the week: The Gateway to the Heart & Soul!

I’m sure most have heard the expression – ‘the eyes are the gateway to the soul’.  Well in this same vein, I believe that the eyes are the gateway to the heart and soul of a woman in love, a residence screaming for rejuvenation and ultimately the secrets that a designer uses to interpret the nucleus of any design project.  The eye of this abalone lion was used to elucidate the core for a private bar in a gentleman’s home and so much more.  It told the story of his resilience as a young man and now a successful business man; it reflected the image of his own father and remains a symbolism of his authority over his own destiny!

The eye of this dragon tub filler spoke volumes to me as I embarked on designing a master bathroom suite and ultimately drove the design for the entire space.  The strong glistening chrome, the strength in the eyes and the fierce statement gave life to an edgy, sexy and modern master bathtub enticing a visit with every glance.

But it is the look of intense love in Lola’s eyes that has inspired an abundance of my work.  The look is pure, confident yet vulnerable – free from fear, embarrassment or rejection.  It is this love that allows me to see things not as though they are but in the glory of my mind’s eye.  It is the love that is the motivating force for me to take design risks whether they are noted as the trend of the moment or not.  And, it is the source of how I can interpret love in ways in which even I never knew possible.

So tell me if I were to look through your gateway, what would be on the other side?

Keep spreading the love,

If you were to look into my gateway, you would find a masquerade ball similar to the venetian carnival. I am enchanted by masks that are held by hand. The floor would be black and white, with tiles the resembled a harlequin design. Each tile would be outlined in a glittering copper. My wedding would be in the fall season. There would be Swarovski crystals hanging from the ceiling. The walls would be covered in a luminous copper. This would create an ambiance of fantasy and wonder. The tables would be decorated with copper clothes and solid colored plates. There would be gold and copper accents across the room. There would champagne flutes with swarovski crystals in the stems. At the bride and groom table there would be elegant goblets that has copper rims. The would be a white tie affair. The reception would start @ 7 pm sharp! A Jazz band would play. I think this would be a magical night.
