Throughout my career I have been blessed with enormous vision and the ability to see things not as though they were. In my quest to successfully execute anything my heart envisions, I’ve always combed the globe for talent and often discovered it but not in the latest glossy magazine or credited for the most recent celebrity wedding but rather in the most unassuming places and industries around the world. And once in a while I am struck by a beautiful surprise – something that leaves me in awe…wanting the marvelous feeling ignited inside of me to linger on. My dear friend (sister from another mother) Kristan Serafino introduced me to this jewel of a talent and his latest venture. Please meet Aaron Potts!

Aaron Potts was born and raised in Detroit, MI, where he grew up greatly influenced by the city’s rich music and dance culture, church, TV, beauty pageants and STYLE with Elsa Klensch. As a student at Renaissance High School, Detroit’s prestigious college preparatory high school, he was introduced to fashion, photography and many other artistic expressions. It was fashion design that captured his heart. After week two of fashion class, he knew that fashion was his life’s calling. He went on to design numerous prom gowns for his friends and classmates – his first foray into a life of designing for stylish women.

Upon graduation, he moved to NYC to attend Parsons School of Design. While attending Parsons, Aaron interned with some of America’s greatest fashion designers, including Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs and Tracy Reese. After receiving his BFA in Fashion Design, he went on to design for the NYC-based design companies Emanuel Ungaro, Anne Klein, Victoria’s Secret, Ellen Tracy, Kaufman Franco and Badgley Mischka. He also lived several years abroad designing for the premiere luxury brand, ESCADA, based in Munich, Germany. His work for these brands has been seen in every major fashion magazine including the American, Italian, German, Russian, French and British editions of Vogue; national and international editions of Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Cosmopolitan; Essence; InStyle; Hello!; Lucky; People; Gala; Madame; Mode; Surface and Allure.

Many international celebrities have chosen his designs for photo shoots, red carpet events and personal appearances including Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell, Fergie, Rosie O’Donnell, Faye Wattleton, Sharon Stone, Molly Sims, Cameron Manheim, Stephanie Seymour, Cindy Crawford, Sienna Miller, Chanel Iman, Christy Turlington, Carrie Underwood, Katherine Heigl, Emily Blunt, Alek Wek, Mia Tyler and Venus Williams among many others.

In 2009, Aaron decided to apply his design and illustration skills to a new project – AARON POTTS NYC. APNYC is a brand concept currently focused on greeting cards, calendars and other paper products that feature Aaron’s signature designs and illustrations. APNYC products have been enjoyed by Patricia Field, Tyra Banks, Judith Jamison, Vanessa Williams, Catherine Zeta-Jones and women from every walk of life and corner of the world.

His love for fashion and creativity is balanced with a keen understanding of and love for the women for whom he designs. His work, infused with energy and passion, is his way of bringing joy, beauty and self confidence to women via the mediums of fashion and art.
Aaron enjoys reading, writing, traveling, drawing and hosting backyard BBQs and holiday dinners. He is still a bit of a TV and movie buff. He lives in Brooklyn with his partner and their Yorkie, Weezie.
For anyone looking to infuse a bit of runway glamour into your client’s next project or if you simply want to own your own piece of the runway, Aaron Potts never disappoints!
Keep spreading the love,
