A gorgeous room is often anchored with a series of beautiful tables that usher in a celebratory atmosphere. There is no better reward for a true designer than observing as invited guests ascend into a space and gasp with astonishment from the splendor that engulfs them. I designed my first ‘X’ table while shooting TNT’s Wedding Day at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. The enormous family style setting comprised of lush florals from Shirvan Designs, custom linens and chair covers from Wildflower Linens and custom designed placemats from artist PeQue enveloped the ballroom. However, it is the smallest details such as the custom napkin ring I designed for Martin Lawrence’s summer wedding that became the icing on the cake.

For an end of summer soiree, reality star of Leave it to Llamas, Shayne Llamas called on ‘yours truly’ to design a fun, flirty and fabulous night of champagne and cupcakes with her best girlfriends and immediate family. Calling for an all-out glamorous gathering, Valentine called on Rrivreworks to complement the hot pink color pallet with just the right amount of glamour using his custom chandelier buffet to flaunt the summer treats.
This has been a whirlwind of a week and I couldn’t resist sharing a bit of the excitement, responsibilities and thrills of my life’s journey. Wednesday I caught a flight to NYC, arrived at my hotel, checked-in, showered and glammed it up in less than an hour (record timing for me) so I could attend the Adult Swim Up-Fronts with my man!
Flowers inspire the design world with immense intensity. This grower is simply nurturing a crop that will be disbursed into the world for a plethora of interpretation. As this add depicts, “the keukenhof flower park is like a long-stemmed version of Fashion Week”. However, there are so many more designers that used buds of glory to define entire collections.
